Pregnant women: here’s the exercise road map

“Off you go, you can start exercising.” The start is in the hands of your gynecologist and once you’ve been given the green light to exercise, only then, starting… right now… is the time when you should start planning your weekly exercise program.

Before your pregnancy, you weren’t training? Same thing applies. Always listen to your doctor’s advice and then start thinking about how to improve your health and wellness from this point, no matter what you did or didn’t do before you got pregnant, in fact, this is the right time to start exercising!

Yes, start…but from where? Here, this will be the next important question you need to answer based on your current fitness level. And if you’re not sure, then let’s start slow with the basics. My classes on Fit Pregnancy Method are in fact designed to be modular and manageable in terms of intensity, don’t worry, we’ll tell you how to do it!

Step one: start training your mind! Being pregnant will be one of the biggest challenges of your life. All the new body changes. The fears and worries that begin to creep in as you are now responsible for your growing baby. Before you were pregnant did you exercise to stay in shape, rehab an old injury, improve your health, boost your self-esteem or lose weight? Did you enjoy working out but always found life too busy to participate in a regular fitness routine? “I’ll start next week”; “I’ll start next month”….

Freeze! Now you have no more excuses! And being able to do it at home, in the privacy of your room, alone with your body, is the ideal option. Skip the expensive gym or personal trainer fees. Save money by not worrying about what you’re wearing. Save time by not driving to the gym.    Mom – Goodbye excuses!

Step two: stay motivated! The first important step to staying motivated is to find a form of exercise or activity that you enjoy. You will be more likely to stick to an exercise routine if it includes activities you enjoy and fits into your weekly schedule. My online program contains different types of classes: barre, pilates, toning, balance, pelvic floor, stretching, etc. And see how great it feels to treat your body well as you move through each week of your pregnancy!
